In the article, I present a review and typology of press materials contained in the Kielce socio-cultural monthly „Przemiany” (Transformation, 1970–1989), which is a valuable source of language material, primarily for Polish dialectical lexicography, but also for the study of the language system of the Kielce dialects from the 1980s and 1990s. The sociolinguistic aspect is included in the description of dialects in the analyzed press texts. On the one hand, Kielce dialect materials broaden the number of printed sources for the issued Polish dialect dictionary, and on the other – they can be well used when developing a regional glossary.
Stanisław Cygan Prawa autorskie (c) 2021 ANNALES UNIVERSITATIS PAEDAGOGICAE CRACOVIENSIS. The material basis are the chronicles from archive issues of „Morning Courier” from 1928, available in the Library of Lviv National University of Ivan Franko. The definition and function of press chronicle is assumed in the article according to Magdalena Pietrzak genologic research. The attention was paid to the creative character of the media communication and the sociolinguistic understanding of the city as a specific place in the social space (acc. to Kwiryna Handke). The example material was classified according to semantic aspects included in lexical definition of the noun life (above all economic, craftsman, business, political, cultural, religious => social life) codified in The Great Dictionary of Polish Language edited by Piotr Żmigrodzki in the online version.
Grażyna Filip Prawa autorskie (c) 2021 ANNALES UNIVERSITATIS PAEDAGOGICAE CRACOVIENSIS. The analysis of Polish equivalents for the Greek lexeme γάμος (or its Latin equivalents in the Vulgate – nuptiae, nuptialis) ‘a marriage, wedding, weddingceremony; plur: a wedding-feast’, i. e. swadziebny, gody, wesele, referring to empirical system and text data, acquired from lexica of the historic Polish and from texts of other Renaissance Polish renderings of the New Testament, proved chronological diversity of the equivalents. The lexeme swadziebny belongs to an older lexis layer, probably representing the lexicon of the former translation, perhaps medieval. The lexeme wesele represents a new lexis layer which may have been introduced into the text by Jan Leopolita, as the effect of his editorial efforts. Chronological status of the lexeme wesele in the analyzed Biblical rendering lexicon is ambiguous. It should be considered as an evidence of an traditional lexis layer. It may have been introduced into the text as a substitute of the lexeme swadziebny.
Tomasz Lisowski Prawa autorskie (c) 2022 ANNALES UNIVERSITATIS PAEDAGOGICAE CRACOVIENSIS. In the 21st century, Polish dialectology becomes a de facto subdiscipline of sociolinguistics. The disintegration of the dialects means that there is a need for new descriptive research in the area that was part of Poland before 1945. The subject of the review are multi-word units – collocation, phraseology and paremism. In the image of Humility and Being Humble, two fundamental planes are distinguished. The multifaceted fulfillment of the manifestations of a human attitude boils down to: an attitude towards humility, its formation, its manifestation and the attitude expressed; in the case of humility – to acquire it, form it, manifest it, act in harmony with it, and obey something in humility. You express the nature of humility as the source of something else, the perpetration, effects, coexistence with certain concepts; humility determines its character and consequences.
Włodzimierz Wysoczański Prawa autorskie (c) 2021 ANNALES UNIVERSITATIS PAEDAGOGICAE CRACOVIENSIS.
